EDITORIAL STANDARDS · INDEPENDENT · SELLS NOTHING

How we research,
and what we won't print

Before you trust a guide about your skin or your money, it’s fair to ask how it was put together. These are the standards every Lapilita guide is held to, set out plainly so you can check our work against them.

STANDARD · INDEPENDENCE

We sell nothing,
so we can say anything.

Most information about treatments comes from people selling them. That doesn’t make it wrong, but it does shape what gets mentioned and what gets left out.

Lapilita is a small, independent website. We don’t perform treatments, run a salon or clinic, sell skincare products or take bookings. Nothing is sold or booked here, so a guide has no reason to steer you towards a yes. Sometimes the most useful answer is to wait, or to look elsewhere, and we can say so.

STANDARD · SOURCES FOR COSTS

Every figure has a date,
and a source you can check.

We never estimate a treatment price from memory or round one up from a hunch. Any price or cost range in our guides must come from a dated, citable source, because prices move and you deserve to know how old a number is.

We also cost the whole journey rather than one visit. Clinics often quote only a single session, so our treatment cost guide looks at sessions, maintenance and aftercare together. If you’re setting a figure for yourself, budgeting for treatments walks through it step by step.

A COST FIGURE, READ LIKE A LABEL

Source
Where the figure comes from, cited so you can look it up.

Date
When it was published, so you can judge how current it is.

Scope
Whether it covers one session or the whole journey.

STANDARD · NO PROMISED OUTCOMES

We describe what's involved,
not what you'll look like.

No one can promise how a treatment will turn out on your skin, and nor can we. You won’t find words like “permanent”, “guaranteed” or “removes wrinkles” in our guides.

What you will find is a plain account of what a treatment involves, what it tends to cost across the full course, and what’s worth checking before you commit. Our checklist of what to avoid is written in that spirit: specific, practical, and without scare tactics.

STANDARD · WHERE GUIDES STOP

A guide is not
a consultation.

Our guides are written for Australian readers who are new to treatments or weighing one up. They aren’t the right fit if you have a skin condition, a reaction or a medical concern. In those cases, please speak with a doctor or a qualified practitioner, who can look at your skin and give a personal answer.

The same goes for quotes: only a practitioner can tell you what your own treatment would cost.

STANDARD · OPEN CORRECTIONS

Spotted something wrong?
We'd rather know.

Corrections are welcomed openly, not quietly tucked away. A real person reads every message.

1   Tell us where. Use the contact page and mention the guide or article, plus what looks wrong or out of date.

2   A real person reads it. We check your point against the source and against what the guide says.

3   We reply, and fix what needs fixing. Where it’s useful, the guide is updated. A good question may become a new one.
