THE PROBLEM WITH ONE NUMBER
A price for one appointment is easy to compare, which is why it’s the number you usually see first. But many treatments are planned as a course rather than a one-off, and some need to be kept up over time to hold whatever result you’re hoping for.
Then there’s the part that happens at home: the products, the protection and the follow-up visits that sit around the treatment itself. None of it is hidden on purpose. It simply isn’t part of a single-session quote.
We’re independent and we don’t sell treatments, so our cost guide does the sum the other way round. We cost the whole journey, from the first session through maintenance and aftercare, so the figure you plan around is the one you’re likely to spend.
QUOTE VS JOURNEY
WHAT A SINGLE QUOTE SHOWS
○ The price of one session at one clinic.
○ Nothing about how many sessions a course usually involves.
○ Nothing about top-up visits later on.
○ Nothing about what you’ll use or buy at home afterwards.
WHAT THE WHOLE JOURNEY INCLUDES
● The first session, and the consultation that comes before it.
● The full course of sessions a treatment is typically planned around.
● Maintenance: the ongoing visits some treatments need.
● Aftercare: the products, protection and follow-ups at home.
Every figure in our cost guide comes from a dated, citable source.
AFTERCARE IS PART OF THE BILL
Everyday things like sun protection rarely appear on a quote.
BEFORE YOU BUDGET
How many sessions does a course usually take?
Ask whether the price you’ve been given is for one visit or the full plan.
Will I need maintenance, and how often?
Some treatments are a one-off. Others are a commitment you’ll keep paying for.
What will I need at home afterwards?
Products, protection and any follow-up appointments all belong in the budget.
Does the spend suit what I actually want?
A realistic total makes it easier to decide calmly, including deciding to wait.
WHAT THIS GUIDE CAN’T DO
Only a practitioner who has assessed your skin can give you a personal quote. Our job is to help you walk into that conversation knowing which questions to ask. If you have a skin condition, a reaction or a medical concern, please speak with a qualified health professional first.
Close to deciding? Our series on common treatment mistakes, and how to avoid them covers the choices people most often regret. Spotted something that needs correcting? Let us know and a real person will read it.
